Troubleshooting: Status Not Showing Up?

If you open the app and don’t see a recent status, check these three quick items:

1. Did you view the full status in WhatsApp first?

Android will not download the file until it is opened in WhatsApp. Return to WhatsApp, view the story, and then re-open WP Status Saver.

2. Are you checking the right tab (WhatsApp vs WA Business)?

If the status was posted on WhatsApp Business, make sure to tap the “WA Business” tab at the top of the screen.

3. Has the WhatsApp status folder permission been granted?

Go to Settings inside WP Status Saver and ensure the folder status shows “Access Granted”. If not, tap “Grant Access” to re-select the folder.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions

Why does a status not appear in WP Status Saver immediately?

A status will only appear after you watch it in official WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business. If you haven’t opened and viewed the story yet, WhatsApp hasn’t downloaded it to your phone’s temporary cache. Open WhatsApp, view the story until it finishes loading, and then refresh WP Status Saver.

Where can I find the saved files in my phone's file manager?

Saved status media is stored in your device’s public directory at: Internal Storage > Pictures > WPStatusSaver. You can also view them immediately inside Google Photos, Samsung Gallery, or the in-app Saved tab.

Why do I have to tap "Use this folder" on Android 11+?

Google Play policy mandates Scoped Storage for Android 11 to 16. Apps are no longer allowed to request broad "All Files Access". By tapping "Use this folder", you securely grant WP Status Saver permission only to read the WhatsApp status directory, ensuring that your private documents and photos remain completely isolated.
